MTA New York City Transit Authority
Inspection of Twenty-Eight Bridges (SIRTOA)
The Staten Island Railway (SIR) is the only rapid transit line in the New York City borough of Staten Island. It is operated by Staten Island Rapid Transit Authority (SIRTOA) which is a unit of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).
The three cycles (2016, 2017, and 2018) included 28 bridges, a pedestrian underpass, and a tunnel.
SEPC performed field inspections, load rating analysis, and documented conditions through photographs and detailed field inspection forms for all 28 bridges. The inspection included all primary and secondary components of the superstructure (including bearings and connections) as well as track level inspection. Structures included steel and concrete members.
SEPC prepared Inspection Reports and performed Quality Control Reviews before Final Inspection Reports were completed.
