Crack Seal & Mastic at Various Locations Region Wide in Region 8
The project scope of work was to conduct mastic and crack sealing operations for approximately 46 lane miles in various locations of Region 8, New York. SEPC’s inspectors monitored the cleaning, filling, and sealing of primary and wide cracks using hot mastic. The inspectors ensured quality control by overseeing and confirming that the pavement temperature was maintained above 40 degrees F° and material temperature was maintained between 370 to 410 degrees F° throughout the operations. The application and furnishing of temporary white and yellow epoxy reflector pavement stripes was also monitored for quality assurance. Work Zone Traffic Control procedures were utilized and monitored daily to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians. The inspectors prepared Daily Work Reports (DWR’s) and submitted them on Site Manager and assisted the EIC with payments to the contractor.
